Itemized List to Help You Pack for Your INCREDIBLE SUMMER!!
Camp is two weeks long so pack accordingly. Weather can swing as much as 30/40-degrees in a day. There is no laundry facility.
On water wear – Two sets of bottoms/trunks should be plenty. We recommend, even for our ladies, you wear water shorts over your bathing suit. Why? Well, you’ll be sitting on a raft and having material between you and your rear will be far more comfortable! 2 tops, either bathing suit for ladies AND t-shirt and 2 t-shirts for guys. This will be sufficient, clothes can be hand rinsed and will dry in plenty of time for the next water event.
Footwear - For rafting you must have a water shoe that affixes to the foot: Water-sandals must strap over the forefoot and wrap the heel. Water booties are acceptable as long as they’re form fitting and will not come off without the help of your hands. Old tennis shoes are fine as they tie on. Name brand companies that make water shoes: Chacos, Tevas, Keen, to name a few.
*flip-flops, Crocs, huaraches, etc., are NOT acceptable water shoes and campers will not be allowed to raft without a shoe that binds to the foot.
There is a small camp store where some goods can be purchased if forgotten or run out, we too carry some supplies like sun-block, bug spray; however, we purchase all organic/natural products and the costs range from $25 - $35 a bottle.
Dry Wear –
A couple of long sleeve shirts for evenings, helps keep the mosquitoes off ya
A sweatshirt, sweatpants for possible cool evenings and mornings
Light Shirts, t-shirts are fine
A few pair of jeans, a few pair of shorts
Underwear for 14-days!!
Socks, might want to bring a pair a day, some folks like to walk in two pair. Often you’ll be in water shoes and not even wear socks, but if you have the room, 14-pair ought to be good.
Tennis Shoes and/or hiking boot for NON-rugged hiking and exploring on our overnight photography trip. Don’t forget your on-water shoes.
Sleeping Gear –
Sleeping bag, pillow (bring a couple pillowcases), sleeping pad (not required but comfortable)
Tent (we have a limited number available let us know if you’ll need one).
Pajamas
Toiletries Etc –
Toothbrush
Toothpaste
Shampoo
Body Soap
Deodorant
Sunscreen / Lip Screen
Bug repellant
Other personal needs as one sees fit
You don’t need make-up, hair dryers, curling/flattening irons, etc.
Electronics –
DISCOURAGED: cell phones, iPods, MP3 Players, DVD players, boom boxes.
Digital Camera – we don’t want professional models, but something to take along and shoot photos on our trips, to load online, to use for scrapbooking would be great. Something, if lost, will not be dramatic. If you want a recommendation: we love the Olympus SW line, they’re waterproof, shock resistant and freeze resistant. They shoot photos and video. We have one we put on every trip and it’s been an EXCELLENT little camera, but that’s our opinion.
Miscellaneous –
A Book
Cards
Group appropriate games
NO weapons, tobacco (legal or otherwise), alcohol, drugs or pornography tolerated at camp.
